I have some great news. I was asked to be a part of this wonderful event —
Nov 7th, 2016 / 7pm – 8:30 pm
Women on the Verge
at The Last Bookstore
453 S Spring St / Los Angeles, CA 90013
In celebration of the paperback launch of The Suicide of Claire Bishop, and in support of Downtown Women’s Center, four working women writers – Carmiel Banasky, Dawn Dorland, Catie Disabato and Agatha French – will read from works in different genres – plus a film from Stacy Elaine Dacheux – and discuss the inherently political nature of being a (woman) writer the night before this crazy election.
It’s an honor to support the paperback release of Carmiel’s book– The Suicide of Claire Bishop. I recently interviewed her for FLAUNT and had a blast learning about her process and approach. Also, this past summer, I taught a poetry workshop for women living on Skid Row at the Downtown Women’s Center and had an amazing experience there. So, I’m very happy to screen our short film – “Back To Abstraction” – in association with this institution and all these ladies. We are installing the film again in December! So, stay tuned for more updates!
